Human Resources Generalist
Gretna, Nebraska is a booming City of the First Class located in Sarpy County and the Omaha Metro. With the consistent community expansion comes the need to grow the City structure to provide exceptional services to Gretna’s growing population. A new position of Human Resources Generalist is approved to oversee the HR function of the City.
The current human resources responsibilities are housed with the City Clerk and will be transferred to this HR Generalist position for proper attention to and growth of the program. This new position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of HR functions such as administering the benefits program, developing and administering an employee training program, recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
Candidates must demonstrate exceptional integrity; must be a self-starter who is purposeful in forming positive, respectful relationships; must demonstrate a passion for public service.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Personnel Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum three (3) years’ progressive experience at a county or municipal level.
- Master’s degree with major coursework in public administration or personnel management is preferred.
- Ability to obtain SHRM-CP certification within 12 months.
